celebrate our 10th Anniversary in
CELEBRANDO 2007 - 10TH ANNIVERSARY MAESTROS REUNION, June 23 (8pm) & 24 (2pm),
2007 in Austin.
In this once in a lifetime performance PUERTO RICAN FOLKLORIC DANCE merges
with Puerto Rican Folklore Masters Modesto Cepeda, Margarita "Tata" Cepeda,
Nelie Lebron and Emmanuel Dufrasne (Paracumbe), Victor "Tico" Fuentes (Loiza).
Joaquin Nieves (Guateque) and their company members for a lively performance
that brings the rich traditional music and dance of Puerto Rico to Austin.
Don't miss this spectacular all-live music and dance production that will take
you on a voyage through every major style of Puerto Rican traditional dance
including Bomba from Cangrejo, Ponce and Loiza, Plena, Bailes de Salon (Danza),
Bailes de las Montanas (Seis), and the rich Musica de las 40s.
Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance's largest performance of the year will
take place June 23 (8pm) & 24 (2pm), 2007 at The Theatre at Reagan High School,
7104 Berkman Dr, Austin Texas, 78752. Admission $15 Adults. $10 Children

Take I-35 to US Hwy 290 East. Exit Hwy 290 at Berkman Dr. Turn left on Berkman and cross under the highway. The theatre is less than a block away on the left. (NOTE: New location! Ongoing renovations and theater closures downtown have forced us to find a new home for this year.)

Salsa Dance Workshop series on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at our cultural center in Austin Texas. Classes will be taught by our amazing Salsa PRFDancer Berto Ramos.
- Class 1 (1pm) - Basic salsa ON1 includes basic men and lady's steps, turns and
partner work technique
- Class 2 (2pm) - Intermediate/advanced turn patterns,
- Class 3 (3pm) - Male/Female body movement, technique, foot and hand shines.
- Private classes available.
Take one class or take them all!
After class, make plans to go out dancing with old and new friends!
Cost is $15 per class, discounts at 2 for $25, 3 for $30.

Celebration of Latino Culture, Central Market - May 5, 2007, 5:30-6:30pm
We will perform a one hour show of live music and dance for Central Market's
Celebration of Latino Culture, May 5th from 5-6pm.
This performance will take place on the entertainment deck
at Central Market, 4001 N. Lamar near 38th Street in Austin. Free and open
to the public, this event is sponsored by

Career + College Workshop, April 14, 2007
We at PRFDance are as serious about Education as we are about sharing our
Culture. We have been recently asked by many for career and college advice.
Therefore, we will host a Career/College Workshop by Austin Community College.
Interested in going to college? Not sure where to start? Have some credits
already but do not know how to apply them to another degree? Have not
finished high school yet? Have no idea what to study but know you need to have
a degree in the present job market to get ahead. Want to know what is
available to you in Austin?
Come and meet Dr. Daisy Diaz-Alemany PhD LPC NCC, counselor/professor
at Austin Community College. She will guide you through the process and
help you find your path to academic and personal success.
This workshop will provide helpful information for those who:
- are interested in going to college and not sure where to start
- need financial aid
- have some credits but do not know how to apply them to another degree
- are currently enrolled in high school and want an early college start
- dual credit college/high school course info)
- have not finished high school
- need advise on what to study to get ahead in the job market
- are a junior (or whatever) in high school and want a head start
- about college and financial aid opportunities.
- want to know what is available to you in Austin

Octavitas Performance & Celebration - Sunday, January 14, 2007, 2-5pm
FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Come celebrate "Octavitas" -- the last holiday of
"Navidad" celebrated on the Island, traditionally 8 days after the Epiphany.
Bring your instruments and sing along to traditional Puerto Rican songs.
Participate or just enjoy informal performances of music and dance by our
company and performing arts students. This open house will take place at
