"Cuando Puerto Rico comprenda
el valor de su folclor,
luchara' con mucha fuerza
para defender su honor."
-- Don Rafael Cepeda Atiles
Be Part of the Future!!
The Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance & Cultural Center
is one of four active cultural centers on the mainland US affiliated by the
Institute of Puerto Rican Culture for our offering of authentic, high-quality
cultural programming.
Last year we learned the building that housed our one-room "little nest"
for the last several years was going to be knocked down to make way for
apartments! We decided to make this shocking news an exciting opportunity to
take Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance and Cultural Center to the next evolution.
In August 2006, after a year of prayers and a summer of REALLY HARD WORK, we celebrated the
Grand Opening
of our cultural center's first permanent location!
Although our facility is not completely finished, it
is already the physical presence of what we have grown to be -- one of the few
few cultural centers in the country, and the only in all of Texas and our four
surrounding states, offering ongoing performance and educational programs in
the full cross-section of traditional dance, music and culture for children
through adults, as well as a professional-level performing company under one
roof.

At this time familia donations are being used
to finish building our cultural center facility. We have one exciting room left -- a Jibaro Project -- that
will give visitors the feeling they have entered the Puerto Rican countryside.
We know you will be very proud to be a member of our PRFDance Familia!
Trained by the masters on the Island, we are one of the few on the mainland
US with the expertise to teach and perform the full cross-section
of Puerto Rican folklore. Our Photo Album
and Reviews page are confirmations of
our quality representation of Puerto Rican culture.
